KiTEC

The role of KiTEC is to support the work of the Medical Technologies Evaluation Programme (MTEP) and the Diagnostic Assessment Programme (DAP) of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

KiTEC is one of four External Assessment Centres EACs) that carry out this work. MTEP selects and evaluates innovative medical technologies (including devices and diagnostics) and helps the NHS adopt efficient and cost effective medical and diagnostics more rapidly and consistently.

KiTEC uses specialist expertise to develop Medical Innovation Briefings (MIBS), produce assessment reports and carry out primary research to inform MTEP decisions.
