Professor Janet Peacock

Professor of Medical Statistics

Professor Janet Peacock joined the Division of Health and Social Care Research in 2010 to lead the statistics group in the Division.

Janet’s main research interests are in the use and extensions of statistical methods in epidemiological studies, and the communication of biostatistics to non-statisticians. Her clinical research includes paediatric studies, particularly in preterm birth and cancer. Her main methodological interest is in making outcomes clinically meaningful and accessible to non-statisticians. She contributes to national policy and training, working on evaluations of medical devices for NICE as part of KiTEC, and worked with the Department of Health reviewing the evidence for plain packaging for cigarettes. Janet jointly established and leads the NIHR Statistics Group with Victoria Cornelius (Imperial College). She is an Adjunct Professor at Dartmouth College US.
