DG15 Myocardial infarction (acute): Early rule out using high-sensitivity troponin tests (Elecsys Troponin T high-sensitive, ARCHITECT STAT High Sensitive Troponin-I and AccuTnI+3 assays)

This project evaluated 3 laboratory based assays used for detecting levels of troponin in patients presenting at the emergency department with symptoms of non-ST elevation myocardial infarction. The assays reviewed in the original guidance were the Elecsys Troponin T high‑sensitive assay, the ARCHITECT STAT High Sensitive Troponin‑I assay and the AccuTnI+3 assay. KiTEC's review supported the recommendation of the Elecsys and ARCHITECT assays and found new evidence to support a recommendation for the AccuTnI+3 assay. The review also found significant new evidence which supports important changes in the diagnostic pathway.
